The Meadowood Subdivision in Ripon is one step closer to reality. At a special session held December 23, the Ripon City Council officially accepted the Final Map for the new development, clearing a key hurdle for the 88-home project.

The subdivision sits at the corner of West Colony Road and Fulton Avenue, directly across from Save Mart Supermarkets and a short distance from Mistlin Sports Park. Once completed, Meadowood will feature 88 two-story homes as part of the city’s North Pointe Specific Plan.

The project received its initial approval from the city back in February 2018, according to City Administrator Kevin Werner. One major requirement was that the Final Map could not be recorded until all civil improvements were completed and accepted—a step intended to ensure no homes would be sold before infrastructure like roads and utilities were in place.

That Final Map was recently sent to San Joaquin County for review, needing only the signatures of Mayor Gary Barton, City Engineer Kevin Werner, and City Clerk Lisa Roos to move forward. The December 23 special meeting was called specifically for this purpose.

Council members had already approved processing the Final Map in October, which allowed builders to begin construction on 17 homes ahead of full acceptance of the civil improvements. With the latest council action, the Meadowood Subdivision has cleared another regulatory milestone and continues to progress toward welcoming new residents.
