After months of anticipation, the Ripon Community Center Tennis Courts are officially back in play, drawing cheers from the city’s tennis and pickleball enthusiasts.
At its meeting Tuesday night, the Ripon City Council approved the final work by Consolidated Engineering Inc., closing out the project and clearing the way for payment. The $21,488 cost will be covered by a Proposition 68 Grant and the Parks & Recreation Capital Fund.
Located at 687 S. Locust Ave., the courts underwent a major overhaul. Crews tore out the old surfaces, rebuilt the courts, and installed new fencing, lighting, and nets—improvements designed to make the space more versatile for both tennis and pickleball.
Now, the updated complex offers four full-size tennis courts that can be converted into eight courts for pickleball, giving local players plenty of room to rally.
