Ripon Unified School District is heading into the new school year with a boost in staffing, following the appointment of 13 new employees at the July school board meeting.
Elizabeth Payne and Susan Herrera are among the newcomers, joining as instructional assistants. Payne will split her time between Ripona and Colony Oak, while Herrera will serve at Weston and Park View.
Ripon High is set to welcome Hailey Dorsey as a new teacher. The district also introduced a group of paraeducators: Leslie Rushing and Lynda Hendley will both be stationed at Colony Oak, and Alyssa Garza, Andrea Arteaga, Lydia Heston, and Angela Eavenson will begin their roles at school sites still to be determined.
The substitute teaching pool has also grown, with Maria Del Carmen Piceno Castillo, Amanda Salvador, Ana Maria Medina, and Caitlin Williams joining as certificated substitutes.
In the midst of these new hires, the district confirmed several resignations across its schools: four from Ripon High, and one each from Ripon Elementary, Colony Oak, and the District Office.
