According to a statement from the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, West was found guilty by a jury of seven felony charges, including one count under Penal Code §288.7(a), two counts under §288.7(b), three counts under §288(a), and one count under §311.4(c). He had also previously pleaded guilty to a charge under §311.11(a).
District Attorney Ron Freitas praised the bravery of the victims in coming forward. “Today’s sentencing restores a sense of safety for our community and honors the immense courage of the victims who came forward. We stand with those harmed, fiercely committed to protecting our children and ensuring their voices lead to lasting justice,” Freitas said in a press release.
West’s arrest dates back to 2019, when authorities executed a search warrant on Van Dyen Way and found him in the garage of a residence. Investigators accused him of possessing child pornography and engaging in a wide range of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor.
The District Attorney’s Office emphasized its ongoing commitment to child protection and holding offenders accountable.
