Pug & Amy McPeak get ready to read a story.

It’s a touch of motherly love when Amy McPeak holds daily storytime with her primary students over the internet.

McPeak was herself a Ripon Student at Ripona School in 1979 with the late Colony Oak Principal Mary Lou Kahl learning the skills of caring for her fellow students at the very young age of 6. She is the daughter of Al and Helen Catano of Ripon.

Now the school librarian, she posts her daily read, along with her nine-month-old pug, “Pig the Pug,” in her attempt to read her “calming’ stories to her students -- averaging upwards of 100 at a time. To connect with her parents can search out the Colony Oak website at www.ColonyOak.com and click on the library link.

Monday, March 16, was the first day of the schools’ closure, and also the first day she posted her stories online for her primary students.
